We pick okra daily, only tender pods--nothing over 4 inches. Okra is great cut up in soup, stew, or gumbo for flavor and natural thickening. Cook it whole or cut up with or without tomatoes. Slice it and bread it with cornmeal or a batter to pan fry. Roast it in the oven with other vegetables. It makes a good Garlic Okra Pickle. It can be stored in a closed container in your refrigerator crisper for at least a week (sometimes up to 2 weeks).
